Tour Details and Itinerary
Experience one of the most memorable marine encounters in the Red Sea with a trip to Satayeh Reef, also known as Dolphin House. Located off the coast near Hamata, this remote reef is known for its clear waters, colorful coral, and frequent visits from wild spinner dolphins. Whether you choose a day trip or an overnight boat stay, this tour offers a mix of exploration, relaxation, and natural beauty.
Your adventure begins with early morning pickup from your Marsa Alam hotel. Travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Hamata Marina, located in the far south of the Red Sea coast. From there, board a speedboat and cruise approximately two hours to reach the reef.
Day Trip Option
On the full-day version of the tour, you’ll enjoy two guided snorkeling sessions at Satayeh Reef. These take place inside the protected lagoon, where spinner dolphins are often spotted swimming and playing in groups. While sightings are not guaranteed, this location is known for having one of the best chances to observe and swim near these wild animals in their natural environment.
Between snorkeling stops, relax on the deck with soft drinks, coffee, and a freshly prepared lunch. Snorkeling gear is provided, and the crew is available to assist guests of all experience levels. The day ends with a return cruise to Hamata and transfer back to your hotel, arriving in the late afternoon.
Overnight Safari Option
For those who want to extend their time on the reef, the overnight option offers a more immersive experience. After a full day of snorkeling and cruising, the boat anchors near Satayeh for the night. Enjoy dinner on board and spend the evening under the stars. In the early morning, take advantage of calm seas and fewer boats with a dawn snorkeling session, giving you another chance to encounter dolphins in a quiet setting.
After breakfast, the boat will stop at Abu Galawa Reef, another snorkeling site with coral formations and marine life. The trip ends with a relaxed cruise back to Hamata, followed by ground transfer to your hotel in Marsa Alam.
Whichever option you choose, this tour offers close access to the natural marine life of the Southern Red Sea, along with time to unwind on the water. It’s ideal for couples, families, or anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape with the chance to observe dolphins in the wild.
