Tour Details and Itinerary
Explore the ancient wonders of Upper Egypt on a private 3-day tour from Marsa Alam. This journey takes you to Luxor, Aswan, and the remarkable temples of Abu Simbel, blending ancient history with scenic landscapes and comfortable accommodations.
Day 1: From Marsa Alam to Luxor
Your tour begins early with pickup from your hotel in Marsa Alam around 4:00 AM. You’ll travel in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor, reaching the city by mid-morning. There, you’ll meet your licensed Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the city’s world-famous sites.
Start at the Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest temple sites in Egypt. Walk through the massive Hypostyle Hall, view statues of ancient rulers, and learn the stories behind the intricate hieroglyphs.
Next, visit Luxor Temple, known for its long Avenue of Sphinxes and impressive columns. After lunch at a local restaurant, cross the Nile to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings — home to the tombs of pharaohs, including Tutankhamun.
Continue on to Hatshepsut Temple, carved into a cliff at Deir el-Bahari, and stop by the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues guarding the ancient necropolis.
In the evening, travel to Aswan and check in to a 4-star hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Highlights of Aswan
After breakfast at your hotel, begin your tour of Aswan with a visit to the High Dam, a major engineering project that reshaped Egypt’s water management.
Then take a short boat ride to Philae Temple, located on Agilkia Island, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Admire the peaceful setting and elegant carvings of this beautifully relocated temple.
Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in the ancient granite quarry. It offers a glimpse into how massive stone monuments were carved in ancient times.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a felucca sailboat ride around Elephantine Island and the nearby botanical gardens — a calm and scenic way to end the day.
Check in to your Aswan hotel for a second overnight stay.
Day 3: Abu Simbel Temples and Return to Marsa Alam
Your final day begins early, around 4:00 AM, with a drive to southern Egypt to see the iconic Abu Simbel Temples. These two monumental temples, built by Ramses II and dedicated to himself and Queen Nefertari, were carved directly into the cliffs and later relocated to prevent them from being flooded.
Spend time exploring the impressive structures, detailed carvings, and the dramatic location overlooking Lake Nasser. After your visit, return to Aswan for lunch, then begin the journey back to Marsa Alam. You’ll arrive in the evening after a full day of discovery.
Throughout the three days, you’ll experience ancient temples, pharaonic tombs, scenic river landscapes, and modern marvels — all with expert guidance and comfortable transport.
